ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া সদর উপজেলার কাউতলী মোড়ে সিএনজি অটোরিকশা থেকে ট্রিপ প্রতি ৬০ টাকা হারে চাঁদা আদায় করছিল একটি বেপরোয়া গ্রুপ। চাঁদা দিতে রাজি না হওয়ায় এক চালককে বেদম মারধর করে রিকশার চাবি ছিনিয়ে নেওয়া হয়। বিক্ষুব্ধ চালকরা কুমিল্লা-সিলেট মহাসড়ক আধা ঘণ্টা অবরোধ করে রাখেন। ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া সদর থানায় নিয়মিত চাঁদাবাজি মামলা দায়েরের পর পুলিশ তদন্ত শুরু করেছে।
