রংপুর শহরের পায়রা চত্বর ও জাহাজ কোম্পানি মোড় সংলগ্ন ইলেকট্রনিক্স মার্কেটের ব্যবসায়ী সমিতির সভাপতির কাছে উৎসব ও স্থানীয় আধিপত্যের নামে ২ লাখ টাকা চাঁদা দাবি করে একটি চাঁদাবাজ দল। চাঁদা দিতে অস্বীকার করায় মার্কেটের সামনে এসে গালিগালাজ ও আতঙ্ক সৃষ্টি করে। ব্যবসায়ীরা ক্ষোভে সব দোকানপাট বন্ধ করে দেন। রংপুর কোতোয়ালি থানায় লিখিত এজাহার দাখিল করা হয়েছে।
