বগুড়া শহরের সাতমাথা ও রেলগেট এলাকার ঢাকা-উত্তরবঙ্গগামী বিভিন্ন পরিবহনের টিকিট কাউন্টার থেকে প্রতি সপ্তাহে ৫ হাজার টাকা করে চাঁদা দাবি করে আসছিল স্থানীয় একটি চক্র। টাকা না দিলে কাউন্টার বন্ধ করে দেওয়ার হুমকি দেওয়া হয়। পরিবহন মালিক সমিতির লিখিত অভিযোগের পর বগুড়া সদর থানা পুলিশ অভিযান চালিয়ে চাঁদাবাজির তালিকা ও নগদ অর্থসহ দুজনকে আটক করে।
