সিলেট নগরীর সোবহানীঘাট পাইকারি কাঁচাবাজার ও ট্রাক টার্মিনালে পণ্যবাহী ট্রাক প্রতি ৩০০ টাকা করে চাঁদা আদায়ের সময় বাধা দিলে চালকদের ওপর হামলার ঘটনা ঘটে। পরিবহন মালিক ও শ্রমিক সমিতির লিখিত অভিযোগের প্রেক্ষিতে পুলিশ অভিযান চালিয়ে চাঁদা আদায়ের রশিদ বইসহ স্থানীয় দুই চাঁদাবাজকে গ্রেপ্তার করে। দক্ষিণ সুরমা থানায় মামলা রুজু করা হয়েছে।
